ADULT ALCOHOL/DRUG EDUCATION
Five Week Program:
General Information: This program is designed to help persons learn more about alcohol and drug use, the problems that arise from its use, and how it personally applies to each individual.
Philosophy: It is the philosophy of The Discovery Center that people often times make poor decisions about the use of alcohol and drugs due to lack of information. We believe that, by providing accurate information regarding alcohol and drug use, a person will be able to make better lifestyle decisions.
Goals and Objectives: The goals and objectives of the Adult Alcohol/Drug Education Program are:
- To provide the client with a therapeutic learning environment.
- To provide accurate information about alcohol and drug use.
- To help the participant gain an awareness of problems related to alcohol and drug use.
- To help the participant gain an awareness of how alcohol/drug use has affected them personally.
- To help the client make better decisions related to alcohol/drug use in the future.
Program Description: The Discovery Center's Alcohol/Drug Education Program consists of one and one half hour sessions once a week for a period of five weeks. The schedule includes lectures, videos, group discussions, and individual handouts designed to further acquaint participants with knowledge about alcohol and drug use. The total cost of the program is $115, payable at time of registration.
