Location: The Discovery Center is conveniently located in the Westwood Plaza Shopping Center on the back (South) side a few doors East of the Westwood 8 Cinema and close to Capitol Beauty School. Our door is next to the stairs, and is relatively private. Ample parking is available, and a bus stop is close. Directions

Alcohol/Drug Evaluation: Anyone who needs and desires an Alcohol/Drug Evaluation will need to pay in advance for an appointment. The Evaluation will take approximately one and one half hours to two hours, and will cost $190. The evaluation must be paid for in cash at the time the appointment is made.

Alcohol/Drug Education: The Discovery Center has a Five-Week Program which is held each Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:30 or from 6:00 to 7:30. The cost of the program is $115. Clients must pre-register for the Program, and pay for the Program in cash at the time of registration.

Substance Abuser Outpatient Treatment Program: The Substance Abuser Program is a five-week program for persons 18 years old and older, and consists of a minimum of 7 hours of alcohol/drug education and a minimum of 25 hours of group therapy. The Substance Abuser Program is designed for persons who need more than an alcohol/drug education program, but do not need extensive outpatient treatment.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment: The Itensive Outpatient Treatment Program is a 20-week program for persons 18 years old and older. The program consists of 7 hours of alcohol/drug education, a minimum of 50 hours of group therapy, individual counseling sessions, and a minimum of 10 weeks of continuing care. The Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program is designed for persons who are physically and emotionally capable of functioning in their usual environment while participating in treatment.

Continuing Care: Continuing Care is a part of the Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program of The Discovery Center and is also available to persons who have participated in a treatment program at another facility. The cost of the Program is included in the cost of treatment for those participating in treatment at The Discovery Center. For persons coming to Continuing Care from another facility, the cost is $45 per session with a minimum of 10 sessions required. An initial registration session is also required at a cost of $125.

Relapse Evaluation: A Relapse Evaluation is required for anyone registering into the Relapse Prevention Treatment Program. The cost of the Evaluation is $70.

Relapse Prevention Treatment: Relapse Prevention Treatment is available to persons 18 years old and older that have completed a previous alcohol/Drug treatment program followed by a period of recovery. The Program consists of one group session and one individual session each week for a period of 12 to 14 weeks. Progress is on an individual basis, and will dictate the total length of the Program. The Program is conducted by a Certified Counselor who is also a Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist, and the program is designed to develop a specific individual plan to help the client to remain in recovery.
